Where we are
Nested within Bambou Mountains, La Vallée de Ferney is a nature reserve of 200 hectares which tends to preserve the native forest of Mauritius, with its unique biodiversity.
Climate, Topography and Soil Type
Ferney forest is located in a humid to super humid wind-facing area, receiving between 2400 and 2800mm of rain per year, throughout winter and summer. The region is established on volcanic series dating back to the Early Tertiary or older. The soil type varies with increasing altitude from humic latosols to mountain slope complexes and is acidic and clay in nature. The terrain varies in elevation between xm and ym above sea level.
